What You Need to Know
Performing...
Online sign-up begins at 9 AM the morning after the last open mic night online here at www.milfordopenmic.com
In-person sign-up begins at 5 PM on the night of the open mic. We keep 5 open slots which are first come first serve, so get there as early as 5 PM to get your name on the list. The sixth artist that shows up will be put on our waitlist. If time allows, waitlist artists may be called to play in place of a predetermined artist who does not show up for their time slot. Being on the waitlist is not mean you won't be playing during the event.

Keep it clean. Our open mic is all ages and at any time there could be kids around. We want to keep our events accessible to all. Thanks ahead of time :)

Performers will get the opportunity to play two songs, or for 10 minutes, which ever comes first. Though our open mic is music based, we do welcome poems and short spoken word and other forms of art.

It's hard to get on stage for many people. In support for all artists who are giving us a special glimpse into their art form, we ask that there's no talking during performances. If a whisper needs to happen, no worries, but please give the artists you full attention. Unlike hearing a musician play in a restaurant, where they are the background ambiance to your evening, we've flipped it so that they are the focus.

A message from your host, John.
Hey there, I'm John Ciambriello, your host for the evening. For years I've played at open mics around CT and have always been on the lookout for a new one whenever time allowed. Open mics have always provided me a place to try out new songs I was writing and meet people with the same passion for sharing music as I had. I grew up in Milford, CT. I wanted to add to my home town, providing another place for young and old, seasoned or on your way, to congregate. You are all welcome. If you simply like acoustic music and want to listen and have some great food and drink, you're welcome too. It's a place for you to be whether you're with friends or you come alone, we have space for you. The notion is to create a community of like-minded folks who enjoy presenting and listening to live music. Meet new people, start new music groups, test new songs, listen to unknown artists.
